Bible - Texts originais.De no biblical book has to be the original manuscript. However, many handwritten copies of
centuries after that, compared with each other and with older translations, allows a fairly accurate reconstruction of texts. From the Old Testament Hebrew and Aramaic, was drafting a final version by massoretas (massora, tradition), between the years 750 and 1000. On the basis of a large number of manuscripts, almost uniform since the second century of the Christian era, and the oral tradition, the massoretas established a text fitted with a complex system of signs of vocalization and pronunciation, the text that has always been used as a major base for all subsequent editions and translations.
Of the books of the Old Testament written in Greek, and the entire New Testament, we made several critical editions, based on hundreds of manuscripts, in an attempt to reconstruct the best possible way the original version of the authors inspired. This immense critical effort, which date mainly from the nineteenth century, form the basis of all modern translations, such as the French Bible of Jérusalem.
