''Me, When I Verge My Lips to Yours''

The lyrical subject searches for oblivion, an escape from reality. The greatest dream in a state of love extasy is to die, because a return to reality brings back suffering and pain. Each sexual experience gives only a bigger disappointment. After experiencing moments of happiness, the world becomes very cruel. Tetmajer worked out love motif in his poetics in a more bold way than positiviste poets such as Asnyk and Konopnicka. That passionate love is also distant from an idealized picture of a feeling that was created by romantics. Tetmajer''s love lyric was also an expression of discouragement in the face of the ruling customs and philistine''s morality.
