Intermediate Vocabulary Games

Book Review by: earlyesther

Original Author: Jill Hadfield
Have you ever thought bringing food to teach sensations? How about bringing pets to teach sounds? Yes, those ideas seem interesting
but you will need detailed planning to make it work perfectly. Now, how if you could teach such specific vocabularies easily? Yes, this is what exactly Jill Hadfield intended to do in her book “Intermediate Vocabulary Games”. By referring to this book, ESL teachers can find a lot of games to help them enrich their student’s vocabularies. Most of these vocabularies are specified adjectives to describe certain conditions such as illness, tools, people, personality, emotions, crime, law, education, relationships, space, and many more. Furthermore, this book is structured into units containing each type of games. This way of structuring will definitely help teachers to find the most suitable game for their classroom. In the end, completed with some practical considerations, such as classroom and resources management, materials and preparation, as well as classroom language, this book becomes a resource ESL teachers can rely on.
