Gently Falls The Bakula is the story of Shrikant and Shrimati studying in std. X, when the novel opens. Two outstanding
students of their school in the town of Hubli, their destinies seem entwined by the gentle teasings of their friends. When Shrimati tops in the final Board exams, where Shrikant claims the second place, he feels a twinge of deep resentment. But Shrikant later realizes that the introvert yet charming Shrimati has attached herself to the secret gallery of his heart. The two understand that gradually they have become one in their inmost heart. And their emotions are sweet and strong, like the fragrance of the bakula flower which inspired their innocent love. Time arrives when Shrikant and Shrimati clasp hands with the vow to spend their lives together.
