“Here is where the land undresses itself and the time lies down”

a murder in retirement home. In a confined space
only reachable by helicopter, the policemen, possessed by a spirit of a
detective, tries to reveal the mystery. Under the Frangipani a novel
by Mia Couto. A group of old people abandoned to their luck, in an
analogy to Mozambique, a blessed land. The history is a reflection on
the consequences of war and the unstable balance established by the
peace. In the narrative, marked by the words invented and reinvented by
the author, the reader is drawn to feel the smell of the land, in an
environment where the fantastic becomes real and reliable. It is a book
written with passion “It is the land, my land! “.
