Winnie the Pooh, the Baby-Sitter of Roo

Book Summary by: Ginisha

Original Author: A.A.Milne

Winnie the Pooh, the baby-sitter of Roo!
One day, kanga had to go out for shopping

and she asked Pooh to come and take care of baby Roo in her absence.  But Roo didn’t want to be baby-sitted but his mother convinced him that he would have fun with Pooh.  After a few minutes, Pooh entered the house, as usual “Laughing”.  Before leaving, Kanga said to Pooh, don’t let Roo get onto any mischief and he replied cheerfully, I wont let him, don’t worry!
In a little while, Pooh hug Roo and put him in his high chair and said to him that he needed honey to cheer him up…Roo asked him, don’t you know to baby-sit? He replied, ah yes, all except the actual baby-sitting part.  Then Roo said, I’ll explain to you how it should be done.  The first thing a baby-sitter should do is play shop, said Roo.  The little explained everything to Pooh as he was a bear with little brain.  Finishing with the first play, Roo said the next thing a baby-sitter should do is climbing the tree; let’s see who could climb the highest, “you or me.”  Pooh said yes, let’s do it.  Roo jumped but he couldn’t reach even the lowest branch but Pooh boosted him up.  After Roo, it was the turn of Pooh.  Roo hopped from branch to branch and Pooh climbed up behind him.  Then, Roo said, look at those apples.  Baby-sitters always pick apples for supper.
Pooh climbed up to the highest branch and picked four red apples and tucked them under his arms.  Then, he inched back down but pooh slipped way down to Roo branch in fraction of second and all the apples fell down.  But he was successful to grab two apples, and then both of them sat on the branch and ate the apples.  Roo said this was the best supper ever. “What do baby-sitters do after supper?” asked Pooh.  “They give baths,” said Roo, “with lots of bubbles.”  Roo showed Pooh how a baby-sitter poured a whole bottle of bubble bath into the bathwater.  Quickly, Roo took off his little shirt and hopped in.  He disappeared under the bubbles.  Pooh came and tried to look for Roo in the tub but he couldn’t find him.  He swished his paws through the bubbles, he couldn’t feel Roo.  Then, he heard Roo shouting, Look at me jumping.  Here you are, said Pooh.  Roo, all wet and bubbly, was jumping on his bed.
Pooh, dried him up with a towel and put on his pajamas.  Then, pooh said, it’s time for your Strengthening Medicine but Roo wasn’t willing to drink it.  He folded his arms across his chest and stuck out his chin.  Pooh sat in a chair and asked Roo, why don’t you give me a spoonful, amazingly but true, Roo gave a spoon of his medicine him.  Pooh said cheerfully to Roo, you are a good baby-sitter.  I’m baby-sitting, Roo sang happily.  Kanga opened the door and saw Roo and Pooh snuggled together in the chair.  Mama! “Look at my baby-sitting!” Cried Roo.  “I’m baby-sitting Pooh!”  “Of course you are dear,” said kanga.
