Edensor ( Rainbow Warrior Tetralogy )

Book Summary by: pianeko

Original Author: Andrea Hirata

This is the fourth book from Andrea Hirata’s tetralogy of Rainbow Warrior. Based on the true story of the writer

himself, Edensor brought us to follow Ikal ( Andrea ) and Arai (his cousin and best friend) unbelievable journey throughout Europe.

‘ Don’t be afraid to have dreams. Because God will hold them for you’.

Ikal and Arai got a scholarship from Sorbonne University in French. What would it be like, two young men from Belitong Island, Indonesia, went after their dreams in one of the most beautiful ( and modern ) country in the world ?

Meeting people and other students from different countries, which means different traits and behavior, make Ikal and Arai learned more than just academic knowledge. They learned about life itself.

Meanwhile, Ikal still remember with A Ling ( Njoo Xian Ling ), his first love in Belitong, who leave him years ago to the ‘only God knows where’. His passion to find A Ling and his secret admiration to the Canadian backpackers, courage him to be a backpacker and traveled throughout Europe during the summer. Together with Arai, he got help from their friends in Amsterdam Art School, and learned to do street art performance, so that they can collect money during the ‘crazy’ journey.

And so the unbelievable journey began. Ikal found out many fragments that connected to his life. The secret of your life will reveal if you really want to search for it. They came to many countries : Greek, Spain, Russia, Italia, Germany, etc. Even a few countries in Africa. Each countries have special history, habit, happiness and bitterness.

And what about Ikal’s love mission ? Could he found A Ling ?

Read this wonderful book, and hung your dreams, as high as possible.
