“ The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”

You get curious
to know what is the story about after reading this title, but later you will find out that the dog is not the real hero but Christopher. This teenage boy is writing with his teacher encouragement about his daily activities. The super precise mind and memory of details such as the exact time by minute show us what an extraordinary person we have in front of us. In the areas of science, such as mathematics and physics far above average intelligence is demonstrated by Christopher. But the social emotional skills are not as mature for this boy’s age. Christopher has his own logic, and sometimes superstitious such as counting number of cars in certain color to affect his mood that day. Our hero feels the best in known circumstances while when he finds himself in non-familiar situation his mind sort of paralyzes for a while until he get over it occasionally with adult help. His way of getting to conclusions, is characterized by using flow charts and choosing the possibility left after eliminating the others. The positive side of the story is by learning about all the support that certain people in the community give to ones that are defined as ”special needs”. By many years of promoting and overcoming obstacles along the way and thus achieving progress toward leading a normal life as much as possible. Reading the book gives a new perspective the families struggle and finding solutions that eventually work for the child best interest.
