Charles Bukowski, "Shakespeare Never Did This"

Book Review   by:Anguila     Original Author: Anguila
ª
This abstract was translated from “Shakespeare nunca lo hizo” de Bukowski.

A short novel about the author´s trip to Germany, his university´s reading and the visit to his relatives. The story finds the author at its prestigious time, married and with no economic fastenings that were a sign in all of his stories and novels, and also in his life since his work stands out for being very autobiographical.

In this trip the appearance of strange personages whom Bukowski emphasizes like fundamental for the continuity of the existence of the human beings, like it is the guy that is in charge to organize the reading and his also some kind of guide for Chinaski. There will appear later a famous personage that  is close to them and together they will share many adventures where the alcohol continues being a very important factor.

In conclusion, many things happen around this visit. Daily situations are described in a very good manner by the author. In any case you should read this novel to know what does bukowski want to communicate to us.
