Clifford the Big Red Dog

Book Review by: MichelleB

Original Author: Norman Bridwell
When Emily Elizabeth Howard picks the smallest puppy in the litter to take home, she has no idea the puppy would grow up
to be the biggest, reddest dog on the planet! Normal sized dogs chase after cars. Emily Elizabeth’s dog Clifford is so big (standing 25 feet or 7.6 m tall) that he can catch cars in his mouth! An ordinary pooch sleeps in a doghouse in the backyard. Clifford’s doghouse is even bigger than Emily Elizabeth’s home. Clifford grows so huge that her family has to move from the big city to Birdwell Island to give her humongous pet some space. At first the island residents are shocked at this huge dog whose bark is worse than his bite. But Big Red Clifford soon becomes a favorite of the island.
