The Great Gatsby

Book Review   by:Nuno_Duriense     Original Author: F. Scott Fitzgerald
ª
This abstract was translated from O Grande Gatsby

This is a romance that portraits a generation and puts into evidence the contradictions of the ''american dream''. The glory and decadence of the ''self-made man'', the ambition and the unstoppable search for money, running to a same time promissing and illusive future, over the intrigue of a love story, are ingredients to build a fascinating story. However, this piece does not limit itself to the showing of the jazz age world, either telling the intrigue of a sentimental drama. It alerts us, like an alegory, to central matters that maintain their accutilance in the present days.
