The title of this book,” What on Earth
am I here for?” lures any meek seeker. I became little more inquisitive with
the label of the first chapter “It all starts with God”. It did not take me more than 10 minutes to understand that titles could often be deceptive.
With an understanding that Rick Warren is not an enlightened master like Jesus Christ, Buddha, Mahavira, Krishna, Ramana,
J.Krishnamoorthi or Osho, one can only expect the author to state that someone cannot discover life’s meaning by looking within him or herself.
So where do we look at? “Look at God!”
Where is God? “ God is the owner and the holy Bible is the owner’s manual”.
Excuse me, Where is God? “And the Bible says…” is the answer.
What is the purpose of my life? “ And the Bible says, God offers you an opportunity beyond your life time” is the answer.
“ Life is a test and every thing in life is significant”. It sounds good. Is that what the God says?
“ This is what our owner’s manual says”
I am totally impressed with the ‘Son of the Father’ as an enlightened person and in a broader perspective, the Holy Bible, a great book. But a man of one book is always dangerous.
“ I am sorry Mr. Rick. You need to sharpen your wisdom about life and to open up your mind with guidance from Jesus Christ and the like, understand His message of Love for the beings and understand the life beyond the Old and New testaments.” May God Bless you!
