The story starts out with a boy named Ender Wiggins who is the third child in his family born to help
the military.Ender,Valentine,and peter were all child geniuses who had a monitor in their necks to allow the top military officers to see what they saw and analyze them.While they all had monitors,Ender had his for the longest time and the military thinks he is what they were looking for.While Ender had his monitor he was treated special but now that it's gone both his brother Peter and schoolmates hate Ender.The
school bully picks on Ender who realizes there is only one way to survive which is brutally beating the leader of the bullies.At home Peter also picks on Ender because Ender had his monitor on longer then himself.Ender expects to be bullied for years to come but Colonel Graff from the International Fleet comes to indirectly save him.Before Ender's time there was a war against an alien species that looked like bugs.Even though they won, the International Fleet knows there will be a second war and they need to train their fighters early.That is why Ender must go to Battle School.
Battle School is in space on a ship which is where Ender is taken for training.Ender believed Graff would be cruel too him because that is how superiors in the army treat new recruits.Instead Graff points out the good qualities Ender has and makes the other boys hate him.The new recruits,Launchies, are placed together for basic training before going on to an army.Ender is clearly a gifted student who excels in school which creates resentment and envy from the other students.Ender makes a few
friends and learns how to move through null gravity battle room.He teaches and learns from a boy names Alai and becomes friends with him.Ender is starting to fit in with the rest of the group before abruptly being put in an army.
Ender is placed in Salamander Army and quickly makes friends with Petra,the only girl in the army, and makes enemies with the leader Bonzo Madrid.Bonzo does not let Ender do anything while battling other Armies even though Ender knows he is capable.Finally Ender disobey's orders by helping the army and is switched to Rat Army.His new leader is Dink Meeker who is a good toon leader and is happier in his new army.Ender gets in a fight against some boys and realizes that the teachers won't help him.
Back on Earth Valentine and Peter create online personas and are giving political opinions over the internet.Soon enough they are respected members of the internet community for their opinions.They want to be able to control world events and know they are smart enough to do it.Ender is only nine years old at this time and in a new army.He is Pheonix Army now and is still a respected member in the school.However, Ender becomes depressed until Valentine sends him a letter.Her letter brings Ender back on track which makes his teachers happy.
Ender becomes the youngest Army commander with the Dragon Army.He surpasses any challenge and soon figures out that they want him to fail.He is being given challenges which no one has ever done before.Ender is clearly the best commander and has the best army yet feels that he is not seen as friend by anyone but just a commander.Bonzo attacks Ender in the shower but is fatally injured by Ender. Afterwards he leaves battle school and goes into command school.
He is trained by the legendary Mazar Rackham who defeated the aliens in the first invasion.Ender finds out that teh aliens all think together as one which is why they are hard to beat.After many simulated battles,Ender and his friends are in their last battle.Once they win Ender is told that it was never a simulation but real battles happening across the galaxy.Ender is torn because he destroyed all the aliens and was sending real people to die in the mock battles.He goes into series depression becassue of his guilt and fact he was used.He is seen as a hero to the world and Peter uses it to control the world.Valentine invites Ender to go on a colonization mission to the worlds the Aliens left behind.Before leaving he finds out that he did kill Bonzo.In the new world he finds a Queens egg and she speaks to him.He finds out the aliens never wanted to fight and feels more depressed.The story is continues in
