Moon Dust

Book Review by: John Martin

Original Author: Andrew Smith
Andrew Smith's (2005) book catalogues the testimony of the 12 men (sorry, there are no women yet) who have stood on the surface
of the moon.
But by the time he started, only 9 were left alive. The book includes Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong.. all the heroes of the Apollo missions who are still available to recall their feelings and the experiences associated with their journeys into the unknown.
Andrew Smith is a career journalist and writer. He has written for Melody Maker and The Face (both popular British pop music newpapers) as well as mainstream British newspapers The Sunday Times and The Observer.
This book takes you to another planet and drops you safely back into the Pacific ocean by parachute. But on the way you experience all the human uncertainties and technical hitches of these highly-trained human beings who were at the front of the queue to risk their lives in the days when American foreign policy extended beyond the thermosphere.
