The Doctor from Wales

Book Review   by:SM THOMPSON     Original Author: Sarah Franklin

Once - a long time ago, I belonged to a writers' circle in England! One evening I was invited to attend as a speaker from Mills and Boon Publishers was "in town" and wanted all /writers/to turn up in their best duds and listen to the words of this speaker!

They were there to recruit new writers to their company ... their offer was

a: a contract
b: ¤10,000. upon acceptance of script
c: fame:

Well, I jumped at it and as a result I am now published myself and still after 20 years ... I am ... looking forward to the Winners' cheque for ¢20,000/the price has gone up of success!
However, I have in the interim period read many of these short novels published by Mills and Boon and I have enjoyed the ROMANCE of this type of story telling! It makes a change from horror, death, violence and sexual depravity!

In this book: our heroine Meryl Taylor "was furious when Dr Gareth Owen-Thomas got the job as senior doctor at Wellford Centre/allows us to indulge our fantasies somewhat: we have another round of perfect characters in this style of writing She was expected to live with him! Mind you, people often complain that some of us live alone and I sympathize with the feelings of the author! Still I am ready to /throw in/my lot with a handsome doctor and live out a life dedicated to the betterment of mankind, in health and in society and to lessen the financial burden indeed to either partner would be a blessing all round!

I met one such medical chap recently on board the flight/we talked at great length on the subject but then ... our paths diversified ... he went his way ... and I went mine! Next time, I am sure I will make a stronger bonding by /holding hands/ and doing all that sort of stuff! He kissed her, muttered "I love you" well ... take it from there folks, its a Mills and Boon classic/happy reading!
