1) Humayun Ahmed:-
No. 1 fiction writer of Bangladesh. He is a PHD from North Dakota
State University in polymer Chemistry and one of the faculty member of
Dhaka University. He has written at about 50-60 outstanding fictions and
still writing. His developed mentality in contemporary Bengali
literature is remarkable. He has written some exceptional science
fictions about the space. His creation the stories from psychiatrist
Misir Ali who is very much logical character and anti logic character
Himu are bright gems in Bengali literature. In Bangladesh and West
Bengal(India) his book sells like hotcake.
2) Sirshendu Mukherjee :-
One of the best contemporary author of India. M.A from Calcutta
University. Presently he is in journalism. A very powerful writer. His
fictions ?ManabJamin?, ?Parthib?, ?Durbin?, ?Chakra? are totally superb.
His science fictions for children is also very much popular. His
descriptive style of human psychology is great.
3) Rabindranath Tagore:-
Nothing to say about ?Gurudeb?. I just want to tell that he not only
wrote some great poems, he was a great fiction writer too. If you read
the fictions like ?Gora?, ?Sesher Kobita?, ?Malancha?, ?Chokher Bali?
etc you will invent him again. This man really is a golden era in
Bengali literature. ?Quantity spoils quality? Tagore proved it wrong.
4) Sunil Ganguly:-
Another very powerful author in Bengali literature. His novels like
?Purba-Paschim?, ?Sei Somoy? are one of the best in World. His adventure
stories of Kakababu a handicap brave man are very much popular among
the children. In his earlier days Sunil Ganguly was famous for his great
poems and now he is a very popular Bengali author.
5) Saratchandra Chattarjee:-
Many of you have seen the current blockbuster ?Devdas? and thought
about the great story of the movie. But the author himself thought that
this Fiction is the worst story of him. He is Saratchandra Chatterjee.
This man wrote some everlasting fictions in world literature. ?Srikanto?
is his best creation. His fiction ?Sabyasachi? was banned during the
freedom movement. Fictions like ?Parinita?, ?Pallisamaj? is very much
remarkable in Bengali literature. His immortal story ?Mahesh? one of the
best story in world literature.
