Writing At Its Best

Book Review   by:JeanBaileyRobor     Original Author: Burlington Writers Club
ª

Writing At Its Best is a compilation of various works from members of the Burlington Writers Club from Burlington, North Carolina. This book was compiled as a token of celebration of the 50th year of the club. Hundreds of writers have joined this club since it's inception in 1956, and the club membership is still strong today. This book was dedicated to all past, present, and future members. It's a collection of both poetry and prose and makes interesting reading. You'll find traditional poetry and free verse, short stories, and essays. Some of the writings are based on true experiences of the writers and may even touch your heartstrings. It's a good book for your coffee table. In reading the different selections you'll find some that will make you chuckle a bit. The Burlington Writers Club has a diverse group of writers. Some specialize in writing poetry, while others focus on short stories or scripts. You won't find Writing At Its Best on Amazon.com or any other bookseller's website. However, if you visit the website of the Burlington Writers Club, you can contact them and they will be happy to get you a copy as long as they last. Printing is limited. Proceeds go directly to the club. Also, if you live in the Burlington, NC or surrounding areas, you may want to plan to drop in on a meeting sometime. They welcome guests and new members. Each meeting has a theme and sometimes there are interactive writing activities which will stretch your creativity. I've found it to be a source of inspiration and encouragement. I've written more in the time I've been a member than I ever did before. If you want to know what kind of talent lies within the club, just read Writing At Its Best. You'll find a weath of talent hidden inbetween the pages.
