I'm OK-You're OK

Book Review by: Caryna

Original Author: Thomas Harris
I'm OK-You're OK is a psychological thesis of four positions in life:
1. I'm OK-You're OK
2. I'm OK-You're not
OK
3. I'm not OK-You're OK
4. I'm not OK-You're not OK
The first position is the best, where we are confident and satisfied with ourselves and also comfortable with the rest of the world. People in this group are generally happy with life. However things in life may go wrong and people tend to blame others. When this happens we fall from the first position to the second position. People in this group blame others whenever something has gone wrong, and are quick to find fault with others. The third group of people are those with low self-esteem. The world around them is wonderful but they are not. These people can fall easily into the fourth position where if they are no good the rest of the world cannot be good either. People in this group tend to fall into depression.
It is a very simple and effective way to understand your own thinking and behaviour, as well as those around you.
