Einstein and the relativity: Historical studies

Book Review by: Demi

Original Authors: Theodoros Arabatzis; Kostas Gavroglou
Theodoros Arabatzis and Kostas Gavroglou, the two distinguished professors of History of Science, united their scientifical
knowledge to create the collection tittled "Einstein and the relativity: Historical studies". They collected scripts and ideas of significant scientists, in an attempt to answer critical questions: Which were the major problems of late 19th -early 20th century physicians', what was the main influential factor that lead Einstein to the theory of relativity, what was the role of other scientists, which were the reactions and how the theory was interpreted by foreign scientists. This collection begins with a text of the two authors concerning a thorough historical research on the special theory of relativity. It includes a series of articles written by famous historians Gerald Holton, Stanley Goldberg and Peter Galison, as well as an autobiographical script of the father of the theory of relativity, Albert Einstein. The book is a momentous collection recording history and the factors that influenced the theory of relativity while it illuminates all the previously mentioned questions.
