Hercule Poirot, a famous Belgian detective is travelling in the same train (The Stamboul Calais Coach), with
people from all over the world.
During the first
night Ratchett an american, informs Poirot of his fears for his life due to the death threat letters he has been receiving, and requests for his help in investigating the people behind it. Poirot who claims that he doesn't like Ratchett's evilish face dismisses him bluntly.
However, during an impromptu stop during the night due to a snow drift, murder occurs, Ratchett is found dead.
Different clues are left behind all pointing to different people, so Poirot if forced to interview all the passengers and the crew. It is here where the reading become more interesting as the reader is presented the challenge of discovering the right solution to the mystery before Poirot reveals it.
This book is a must read.
