Hypertension can lead to heart attack Most people have a fair knowledge of hypertension or high blood pressure pressure is the force of blood pushing against blood vessel walls. The heart generates pressure to pump blood into the arteries which carry the blood pressure, but gaps do exist in their awareness. Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against blood vessel walls. The heart generates pressure to pump blood into the arteries which carry the blood through out the body. In any blood pressure reading, the first or systolic pressure referes to the pumping pressure of the ehart,and the second r diastolic refers to peripheral vascular resistance, or resistance offered to the flow of blood by the vessels. Normal:less than 120/80,pre Hypertensin:120-13/80-89 Stage I Hypertension:140-159/90-99,Stage II Hypertension:160 and above/100 and above. Causes of hypertension is the exact causes of hypertension are not known. In fact, the most common tyupe of hypertension are not known. In fact, the most common type of hypertension called “essential hypertension,”is without any known cause. Several factors and conditions may play a role in its development,including genetic obesity,lack of physical activity,too much salt in the die,too much alcohol consumption stree and older age.
Symptoms of hypertension are there areno symptoms or signs of hypertension, so you usually don’t feel it. In fact, nearly onethird of those who have hypertension don’t know it. The only way to know if you have hypertension is to hav your blood pressure checked. Rarely though,people complain of fatigue,palpitation,headache,heaviness in the chest and high levels of anxiety. But this is one disease where symptoms devlop rather late, and one should kepp a regular watch after age of 35. Hypertensin is usually diagnosed ina routine medical check up. It is measured with the help of a special meter called a sphygmomanometer which consists of a stethoscope,arm cuff,dial,pump and value. On ehigh readingis an indicatin to keep a strict watch and repeat BP measurements. While a conecutive three or mnore high readings call for treatment. Treatment of high BP is important because hypertension is a serious condition that can damage the blood vessels and lead to several other conditions including heart attack,kidney failure and vision problems.
