From the book of Isaiah,transgression swept the entirety of
Jerusalem and Judea in that the populace was found
doing it
their own way irrespective of the rules and regulation
laid
down by God.Making sacrifices to other gods,worshipping
on
mountains and despising ordained
place of worship---
ZION,this they long continued without fear of the HOLY
ONE
OF ZION----GOD.
Growing tall in the iniquity God spoke up to address
the
unseemingly attitude of his
people seeing that everyone
had
gone into prostitute,because it is God's Law that one
loves
no other gods but the LORD.
"Come and let us reason together,though your sin be red
as
scarlet I will make it white as snow." Isaiah 1:18.
This message from God sparked off
hope, this began
their
emancipation from sin as the consequencies of their
transgression enslaved them into untold famine,lack and
want,as their honourable men were found famished and
impoverished.This situation troubled the LORD greatly
who
blamed it on Isrealite leaders.
As result of this poor leadership,GOD reveals His
agenda
through prophet Isaiah concerning a future
government of
His son who must proceed as root of Jesse to maintain
the
leadership throne of David until righteousness exudes
in
the land as His zeal will see to it.This prophesy is
without a
sign because every geniune prophesy
accompanies a
sign;the sign was noted as Isaiah spoke up that the
Lord
will give them a sign that a virgin will conceive and
shall bear a child and his name shall be called Immanuel:milk
and
honey shall be his food.This means scripture or word of
GOd, and this give an insight the kind of government
that
was in God's heart:HIS-WORD-ORIENTED government.Knowing
fully that from the word, knowledge will be imparted to
His
people for their eternal deliverance and salvation.
Shall He give up on Isrealites?He would not because
they
were His inheritance,for this purpose God endures with
them,just like a father to a son He rather punish them
than
giving up on them.But shall He continues to afflict
them?
This call for this message of hope, God redeeming His
people from self-imposed bondage through the government
of
HIs son Jesus. On His advent He made open His mission
statement;" the Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because
the
Lord had anointed me to preach good tidings unto the
meek;he had sent me to bind up the broken hearted;to
proclaim liberty to the captives, and opening of the
prison to them that are bound..."
On emergence of the Christ who was foretold the
Isrealites
hope was perfected as He lived His life as unfolding
prophesies as prophets was noted.His government
according
to Isaiah's prophesy shall know no end until He
establishes
the throne in righteousness. This in effect means
executing
the plan and purpose of God.Which he realised by
propagating gentiles/non indigeneous Isrealite into the
fold of God's inheritance as spiritual Isrealites--
those
that believe and receive the government or the divine
order.
THE VICTORY OF ZION: Prohesy of Isaiah on Zion was
another
divine signal majored on the book of Isaiah.Before the
prophesy, Zion which was the legalised place of worship
was
deserted and abandoned;dwelling place of God.Shall one
flee
from one's salvation or place of refuge? This must have
been the thought in God's heart when inspired Isaiah to
foretell of the future glory of zion---- unfolding His
agenda on Zion now called the CHURCH.But the deserted
Zion
must have been in shamble,poor and unattractive because
human beings has that as an instinct to often drift to
a
better suited place.
This provoke God to address the situation of Zion,
exalting
it on top of mountains/hills{these hills mean the
illegal
mountains and hills where the people of Isreal once
pred} making it nations friendly. Beautification
of
Zion spans from physical to spiritual;solution centre
to
nations. Out of the Zion shall proceed Law and people
who
once prostitute the House shall once call on others
saying
let us go up to the mountain of the God of Jecob that
He
may teach us His ways and we shall walk in His path.
In conclusion we can draw two facts from the book of
prophet Isaiah:The hope of people of God and Future or
Now
glory of Zion.
