The Great Book of Amber

Book Review   by:Itamarsh2     Original Author: Roger Zelazny
ª

What is life in shadow? and What is substance?
Corwin finds himself one day bound to a bed in the center of new york, or atleast new york as we know it. He doesn't know where he is.. Infact, he doesn't know who he is!!
Out of memory, Corwin struggles to understand what happend.
He finds out, My good lord he most certainly does - as the plot gets the most unexpected and wild twist.
The world is changing, or should we say - shifting.. To reveal the one true world - Amber.
Nine princes are in Amber and everyone is after the throne afer the king had died.. Did he really dye?
Come and read the greatest of all fantasy books ever, the one book that has a twist and a climax every single page.
For in the world of Amber, things are abit different.
Roger Zelazny takes you by unnatural force into the deepest of the soul and the unexpected.
Just as it seems the book should end after Corwin possession of the throne - you look back and see that great black road.
If Amber is substance and everything else is shadow - one can never know which horrors awaits at the Courts of Chaos, the absolute opposie of the one true world.
And of course, there is also the Pattern, hidden in the deepest cell of Amber.
The Pattern gives the one who manages to live through it the power over shadow, being able to shift from one world to another.
Walking the Pattern and succession in doing so means that the blood is Royal.
Walking the Pattern and failing to complete it means another thing. Death.
