Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Book Review by: ksmanta

Original Author: J.K. Rowling
Well what can one say, Its a Harry potter (one of the thinner/better
ones)...just read it and sigh. It takes you on
its wings, soaring away
from this world into a magical one. Wizards in a boarding school - an
irresistible double whammy of fantasy and nostalgia. Old english
castles, charmed common rooms, sun drenched meadows, ice lollies and of
course Quidditch! Yes the school life...rushing to classes, the exam
tension, breaking the rules - and all this in an enchanted world.
Surrender because resistance is futile..JK Rowling is in the zone with
this book as she introduces Sirius Black (the prisoner of Azkaban).
Something is not right at Hogwarts. Dementors - the eerie prison guards
from Azkaban(the scariest prison in the world) are stationed at the
school. Ostensibly they are on the lookout for Sirius Black - an
escaped convict. But Black is not just any odd criminal. He was
responsible for the deaths of Harry's parents and is now apparently
after Harry. This doesn't keep the students from the usual fun and
games, but the omens are not good.
Written with all the skill of an Irish raconteur with God knows how
many generations of storytelling in her blood, Rowling dazzles with
every turn of page which is why one wants the book to go on forever.
But it cannot, which is just as well. Anyway read for yourself and find
out how Harry and his friends - the irrepresible Ron and the
ever-vigilant Hermione battle the dark forces.
