A classic - Sans Famille (Nobody's boy)

Book Review by: morya

Original Author: Hector Malot

Remi the waif is first torn from his real family and later on from the arms of good Mama Barberin who adopted him. He embarks
on a life of wandering along the roads of France, first as a travelling musician alongside the animal trainer Seigneur Vitalis and later with Mattia, a fellow homeless travelling musician. In all his wanderings, filled with danger, thrilling encounters and life-lessons events, Remi searches for his real family - will he find them? This touching novel is not only a portrait of a brave child but also a shocking document on the life of lower-class children in the 19th century, and it is an inalienable asset of Classic literature alongside Dickens' "Oliver Twist" and De Amicis' "Heart". Highly recommanded. The novel is also an educationl book as it teaches respect for one's parents and elders and helping others. It's suitable for kids aged 12-112.
