A friend bought me this for my birthday as I used to live in Japan and it is broadly based on an
ancient Japan like island.
It sat on my shelf a year before I read it as it is not the usual sort of book I read. When I did eventually get around to picking it up to read I found I could not put it down. The hero of the novel Takeo and the heroine Kaede I immediately took to my heart and was caught up in the very fast paced adventure on which they embarked.
It is a book of
ancient oriental mystery and magic of mythical talents and skills now lost but seeming perfectly natural for the ancient time in which they are set.
This is the first of a trilogy as soon as I finished it I jumped on-line to buy the following two volumes, Grass for His Pillow and Brilliance of the Moon. I was not disappointed.
