In search of you is a inspiring story of Moulvi Sulaiman, a boy born to a Muslim family in Kerala, India. It describes about his thirst to know about Jesus which began through Quran. He studied Holy Quran in detail and preached passionately that Jesus is not God, until he found peace at the foot of the Cross. It was one of those days when he had just finished preaching denying the divinity of Jesus, that a stranger appeared in front of him. He asked, If Christ is not God, then who is he? Is Christ, son of God, Prophet, or a common man? If he is not one of these then has he lived on this earth? Is it crucifixion or mere fiction? He put forth questions and walked away without waiting for a reply. These questions sowed seeds of confusion in him which he couldn’t brush aside, because Quran states “The Messiha (messiah) Jesus, Son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, his word which he conveyed unto Mary and a spirit from him” Surat Al Nisahu: ayath 171 (Chapter 4:171). The Holy Quran states exactly what Bible states in John 1:1, John 1:14 and Matthew 1:18. God cannot be separated from his word. A man without spirit is a dead body. Jesus is the spirit of God and if he is separated from God, then God is dead.
All these questions started troubling him and he questioned his teacher. He was not at all satisfied with the replies he received. His quest for the search of truth continued through scripture study of all religions. After many years realization dawned that existence of God is experienced only in Christ and salvation can be attained only through him. The journey to the truth, was not easy, but was filled with pain, isolation, opposition and great losses. Earlier he had rejected Christ for his parents, relatives and for the community he grew up in. Now, he rejected all of them for Christ. He finds solace in the Bible, Matthew 10:37, which states ‘Whoever loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Also Matthew 10:39 says, “Those who find their life will lose it and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.”
