Sometimes I call into the sky

Book Review by: Sobolka

Original Authors: Tamara Zwierzyńska-Matzke; Sven Matzke
This abstract was translated from Czasami wołam w niebo
It's a very true story about the disesase, suffering,
fight, hope, admirable passing away. The title tells
everything about this book (in English:"Sometimes I
call
into the sky").It'a a desperate scream from the bootom
of
the human's soul to God, it's a request for survival,
to
stay alive. Tamara Zwierzyńska – Matzke is a novice
journalist, who works in Polish TV. She's a warm,
sensitive, happy woman. Her husband - Sven Matzke gets
a
job in Brussels as an office worker in European
Parliament
and they go there together.Soon after coming there
Tamara's
health problems start. It turns out that Tamara suffers
from
extremely malignant and difficult to heal kind of
cancer.At
the beggining she's shocked, scared and she doesn't
want to
believe in it.But the inner rebellion against this
disease
appers and it causes the strenght to fight because her
life
is the stake in this fight. An awful pain, chemotherapy,
hope, nervous breakdown after a recurrence of cancer,
hope
and a strong will to live till the last breath - all
these
things and feelings Tamara experiences.
It's a heart - breaking story written in a form of a
diary, memories and letters. It's a story about broken
in a
tragic way love, it's a lesson of humility to life and
death, which moves even the hardest hearths. The most
tragic and difficult moment for a reader is when he
realises that this story is not a literary fiction, but
it
really happened and this tragedy can happen to anyone...
