1. On one of the Irish home farm sheep find their
shepherd,
who is dead and has a spade in his stomach. Depressed
animals recall their
protector in a good or bad
way.Sheep
decide to solve the mysterious death of this man, an
investigation is led by a sheep called Maple.People
living
in the vicinity gather on the farm and they discover
the
corpse. A journalist and few policemen arrive too and
they
take the body and the spade with them.It starts raining
and
sheep hide in their barn and they start investigation,
there are many questions which concern the
shepherd's
death
and also some of them are connected with metaphysics.
Animals go to sleep.
2. The next day in the morning a flock of sheep leaves
the
barn and attacks a vegetable garden which was best-
guarded
be the dead shepherd.After eating vegetables,sheep feel
pricks of conscience except one of them-Otelia,which
hasn't
taken part in the robbery.Sheep gather next to a
trailer,where the shepherd was reading fairy tales,
books
about sheep's diseases, criminals,love stories for
them, he
also was telling them about his wife, who was the most
beautiful woman in the village, but after getting
married
she has become fat because of biscuits. He told them
that
he wanted to travel with his flock around Europe.
Sheep decide to commemorate their protector and the
small
part of the meadow they call "George's Place" and they
cannot pasture there any more.
People from the village come to the farm, they recall
the
man, they talk about his will, which he left and about
the
future of his farm and sheep.Animals are frightened
because
they suspect one of the man from the village - this
with a
long nose of murder the shepherd.
One of the sheep -the Cloud says that when she was a
lamb,
she met this man on the meadow and he was blessing
sheep.The Cloud recalls her visit in the
church,too.Sheep
pasture.The group of people from the village walks
away.The
flock recalls the times when their protector was alive,
they also think about human nature.Suddenly animals are
scared away by a clergyman's car (sheep call this
priest
God), they run away to the top of the hill and they see
a
clergyman who gets out of the car and starts looking
for
something on the farm.He scares away when he sees a
group
of adults, old men, children and dogs who go toward the
farm.
