Land of the Living

Book Review by: beepee

Original Author: Nicci French

While reading this book I was thankfull, that I am not in the position of its protagonist and I was praying for something
like this not to happen to me. Petrifying and simultaneously fascinating book, tells the story of a girl who wakes up one day in an unknown place, bound and with a rope on her neck. The past is a mystery for her, she does not know what is happening and fights with fear and her own feelings to save her dignity. Due to an accident and her cleverness, she manages to free herself. She tries to look for the person who imprisonef her, although everybody percieve her as crazy. Fortunatelly, she finds love and support in a man, who is the only one that believes her and whom she trusts, until some doubts arise and it seems that it is impossible to explain them. Thanks to her strenght, she manages to find what she has been looking for and recover some of her past tranquility, however she is conscious that nothing is going to be as previously.
