Unfortunately, he made the mistake of revealing his ambitions to a young lady who happened to be the
illegitimate daughter of the king and wound up exiled to India for his trouble. But he’s back now and the Duke is not the sort to make the same mistake twice. Louisa wants to make some changes in the status quo. Simon wants to be the next prime minister. Parliament wants Louisa and her friends to be quiet and go away. The King wants to give his daughter something other than politics (like a husband and family) to think about. Everyone could get what they want if Louisa and Simon could just find a way to work out their differences in an amicable fashion.
