Stephanie Plum is between jobs, and between boyfriends, and soon to be between apartments if she can't pay the rent.
Bounty hunting for her cousin Vinnie's bond collection agency doesn't really fit into Stephanie's field of expertise but she tackles it with gusto and the plot only thickens when her first target is also her first love - an outlaw cop called Joe Morelli.
