Bruce Lipton is a nonconforming medical biologist who has attempted to reach beyond the concepts of conventional science
to reach the human spirit. He has done this, however, in a strictly scientific way which can convince scientists as well as laymen. The most interesting part of the book is a Eureka! moment when he realizes the motivating force for cell behaviour lies outside the body. He sees this in the behaviour of his students who respond to positive reinforcement and group learning by achieving beyond expectations.
Cell biology is complicated science, but Dr. Lipton, like a true teacher, uses simple analogies to make it understandable and readable. He introduces the new science of epigenetics - "the new science of self-empowerment" which he sees as an aid to human achievement on all levels. He compares a human cell to a
computer chip, both with "gates and channels" for programming.
Dr. Lipton concludes with a somewhat anti-climatical message. New programming cannot overcome longterm subconscious programming without specific intervention. For this, he recommends the work of felow scientist
Rob Williams who developed the PSYCH-K approach, worthy of another book.
