Arthur Dent isan everyday British man.One day Arthur wakes up to find that his house is going to be demolished. What Arthur
doesn't know, his house being domilished is just thebeginning of an exciting adventure. Ford Prefect, who isArthur’s friend, reveals to the world that he is not human, but in fact an alien from the planet Bettleguise, and he is currently researching an electronic book called "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Prefect then saves Arthur from theVogons who are tearing downEarth to make way for an intergalactic motorway.Off on an intergalactic adventure, Arthur and Ford and joined by many very interesting characters. Some of these characters include two-headed former president of the galaxy, Zaphod Beeblebrox,a very smarthuman woman Trillian, and Marvin, a depressed android who all travel across the galaxy on-board Zaphod's stolen spaceship, "Heart of Gold." They journey to find the meaningof life, and in the processthey travel to a newly constructed Earth II,where Slartibartfast reveals the truth about the original Earth, that was destroyed by the Vogons.
