book features some of the amazing things that have happened to this extremely gifted man. The beginning of the book touches on Derek Acorah’s childhood and profession before becoming a
medium. He also
tells of the first time he and his family noticed his gift. Next he explains how he ended up becoming a medium. He tells of how on a visit to a spiritualist church one day, he had a message delivered to him by a medium. This led to Derek being asked if he would conduct a service the following week. From then on he conducted services in spiritualist churches all over the country. He also began to do personal
readings. Then he began to tour the theatres which held larger audiences. He went on to appear on television on ‘Psychic Livetime’ and ‘Predictions.’ He also did live readings on the radio. He explains of how me
met with Yvette Fielding and how their paths crossed when when they both found themselves out of work. It was then that televisions ‘Most Haunted’ was created. He recalls some of his experiences from the show and talks of other television shows he has been involved with. One of these being ‘The Antiques Ghost Show.’ This programme contained psychometry, which is the gift of being able to hold something that once belonged to someone who has passed on to the
spirit world, and get feelings and messages from it. He has also
visited the ‘Coronation Street’ set where he met the ghosts of Annie Walker, Elsie Tanner and Ena Sharples. He has experienced the spirits of King Charles I and Mary Queen of Scots and has even met some of the spirit victims of Jack the Ripper. He has visited Tonge Hall in Manchester, Belgrave Hall in Leicestershire, Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire and Craigmillar Castle in Edinburgh. His work had also taken him to America where he had done shows and personal readings. He tells of how he was attacked by a malicious spirit and of his spirit guide Sam. There are some sad parts towards the end, but if you’re into this sort of thing, the book is extremely interesting. He gives only brief detail of each experience. This leaves you wanting more, instead of going into great detail which can sometimes be boring. He also talks of animal spirits and shape shifters. What are shape shifters? Well if you’re interested then read the book. If you’re not a Derek Acorah fan, this book probably won’t change your opinion of him. But if you are a fan, then you will probably it immensely and be pleased to know that there are other books by Derek Acorah, that you may also find interesting.
