Cat O’ Nine Tales is written by Jeffrey Archer while he was in prison. A collection of short stories with really enterprising endings, I must say. After getting to the end of a story, the surprise one gets, makes you think of reading the next story and so on. Addictive? A good one is “ Charity Begins at Home”, where an accountant close to retirement, finds out that he has not yet accumulated his fortune and sets out determinedly to do so. Common people, even jailbirds but do they have stories to tell!
