No doubt, work is a part of life & there is no life without work. However, we should enjoy life & work should make it worth living & not make it stressful, boring, monotonous & burdensome. Working on the job should be some thing, which we can enjoy & continue to enjoy as some fun, which the author in 9 Chapters of the book has defined as "rewarding, exciting, creative, with integrity & fairness in dealings & values." Under such an environment, a lot more return can be expected from everyone, since people are happily willing to shoulder, more than normal responsibilities, trying to put in all their talent for the good of their organization, without pressure from anybody.
To some people, decision making is enjoyment, while to some others it is a burden. The former type of people deserve to be leaders. The author has proposed that this enjoyment be extended all over the organization, with everyone to take all types of decisions, important or normal. This will involve them, create enjoyment & fun at work, & take fear out of them.This will make everyone responsible, self-disciplined, motivated & helpful in making workplace full of joy & happiness. The employees will also feel honoured & valued, since their ground level experience will be utilized directly, in decision making for the organization. This will also help in generating feelings of friendliness, love & togetherness, need & care for each other, amongst the employees. This is part of participative management. Generally it has been observed that everyone wants that his opinion, views,& suggestions should be sought, heard & given due consideration.In this way people will feel that they are doing meaningful work & also they will have feelings of joy at work.
