The book The Holy Aparecida of authorship of the former-
priest (catholic) Anibal Pereira dos Reis, describes on an easy way to read the
work of the author as devoted priest of Ours Mrs. Aparecida and the reasons that led him to abandon this devotion. Using an elaborated way to write the history of the
image (made with dark terracota) found in the waters of South Paraiba River, next Guaratinguetá city, at October 13, 1717. He describes the recent renewal of the cult to this image due mainly to the arduous work of redemptive priests (missionários redentoristas), and that culminated with the construction of a new cathedral of Aparecida and the foundation of a new city, that became center of the idolatry that
brazilian people deserves to the image. The last chapter makes a sober analysis of the miracles that are attributed to the image. The book is not easy to find, but it is a must read to all the scholars and curious on the subject or anyone that desire to complete his knowledge about aparecidolatry of the Brazilian people.
