the fountainhead

Book Review by: ziah

Original Authors: ayn ; rand
So what do you do when you are handed over a fat book with 720 pages to be read. Nothing but simply make faces behind the
librarian's back. Ha! that was because you hadn't read the book before; so with lots of groaning and mourning i took the book home and opened the first pages only to find that its pages were so yellow and worn out like a used towel that it really turned me off.
So before i bore you and change your opinion about this book let me tell you this:- this book is just unbelievable yes!!!! and i am not exaggerating. The characters are so different from all the other novels i have read that i was left flabbergasted . The world which Ayn has created remains in your mind even after you have closed the book, the protaganist Howard Roark is Mr.Unaffected who doesn't give a damn about what people think and feel because you see he is also Mr. Unemotional, Mr.i-don't-care and so on. He's got a silly friend whose name i didn't bother to remeber and the villain is ......well i forgot that too ....see i am too much into this Roark guy and yes there is this woman Dominique who i didn't like that much but any way thats not the point ,the fact is Ayn Rand has done a wonderful job in creating a world of treachery, conspiracy, hypocrisyand yes the Good Man (harvard roark.....you silly) who breaks all rules, helps his enemies, sees thewoman he is in love with, marry an old man, does everything and faces everything evil with a smile...... basically he's a guy you'll never come across either in any book or in the real world. The book revolves around architecture (surprised?!?) and people you thought never existed
my advice : take this book where ever you find it in which ever condition ' cause its worth reading.
