Every CEO would like his organization to be vibrant, dynamic, full of enthusiasm, a place where all people have positive attitude, feel pleasure & enjoyment in working. This is with a view to bring vitality to the organization, so that with the contribution of leadership & people at all levels, it becomes more competitive, more lively & more successful. A devitalized organization can be revitalized again, with the team-spirit pervading the whole organization. Some people have vision for their organization, but even otherwise, some want to resolve their problems, boost the morale, create excellence & increase the profits in their organization. Survival may be possible without vitality, but not excellence & competitiveness. The authors have identified spontaneous leadership, stewardship, respect for difference, confidence & absence of ego, as the five markers of vitality in an organization. The whole outlook thus changes for the better, when the employees identify themselves with their jobs, put their heart & soul into their jobs & give their best. In seven Chapters contained in two parts of this book, the authors have discussed various aspects of this subject. At first the book explains what we mean by vitality in an organization, & then it gives a practical method for revitalizing an existing organization. In the opinion of the authors, change, trust & leadership can galvanize the organization internally, to get the results required.
In one of the important Chapters the authors have discussed three principles of vitality, viz. there is a reaction for important events, if ignored these reactions do not go away but continue to influence the organization by remaining underground, properly & openly dealing with these reactions with the experience of everybody, providing opportunities for revitalizing the organization.
The method of creating vitality in an organization, lies in managing change, trust & leadership in it. Change is the law of nature, & changes have to be made to overcome obstacles, to obtain progress, growth & higher development. Unexpected changes or crises threaten an organization. Similarly, trust & leadership are essential for guiding towards cooperation, team spirit & innovation. The technique for using these three, to create vitality is being called Clarification. It explores the hidden dynamics of the organization, makes participation of employees in communicating & understanding each other & in making the organization better & lively. With more trust, future of the company is in every body's mind, more than earlier. Trust helps a lot in innovation, since then the employees are willing to propose ideas & take risks. Trust is a feeling of safety. Similarly, leadership starts with the spirit of the leader, his clear thoughts, his dialogue with others, his talking on facts & giving guidance. These thoughts are applicable in many areas. Of course, it is not a magic wand. The above methods attend to the core issues of an organization, & are worth the effort required for this purpose. This book has been written in a simple & easy to understand language, & is suitable for successful implementation in various organizations, corporations, cooperatives, schools & other educational institutions, government agencies etc.
