Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything

Article Review by: bookbytes

Original Author: Steven D. Levitt, Stephen J. Dubner
Why do I always seem to read the best business books onholidays?Maybe because it gives me the time to think about life, work,
the crazy world we live in and this book does just that. You find yourself questioning those values and views youhold close plus it gets you to think aboutmore mundane aspects of the world we live in froma completely different angle. This book has been round for over a year and I still quote bits of the book at dinner parties (not great company for theperson on my leftI know, apologise to you all). You will notfind a holy grailto the world problems within the book but theway the authors deconstructthe organisational structure of drug-dealing gangs to baby-naming patterns is absolutely fascinating but for me themost controversial is howthe authors linkthe legalisation of abortion witha reduced crime rate 20 years later.
