The present work had as a
main objective a
theoretical and experimentalstudy of a
bridge constituted exclusively of
round wood pieces ofEucalyptus citriodora. Several theoretical procedures which weredeveloped for calculating the main bridge structural elements have beenanalyzed and compared. A program developed according to the effortsmethod in an electronic spread sheet has allowed a precise calculationof the bridge, admitted as simplified hiperestatic frames. Steel ringswere utilized as a fastening system for connecting two round piecestogether and the effects of their measured deformations under load wasconsidered on the calculation of the global displacement of twincircular composed beams.
