In one of the Chapters, the authors talk about nanotechnology i.e. operating at nanometer level, controlling of individual or small groups of atoms, & making them do tasks wanted by us. Technologically, it is a major step. This is
expected to be used in medical field for
developing robots, e.g. to clean out blocked out arteries in a routine manner, in aerospace & defence industry for developing intelligent materials, for clean & cost effective manufacturing systems, producing machines & self-assembly systems for replicating in a controlled environment, & building computer systems using building blocks made from molecular amounts of elements etc. Basically, this technology is different in respect of size, but it is efficient.
