I have to start by saying that Kinsella is a total genius; she has created Becky
Bloomwood, protagonist of the Shopaholic
series, a loveably fascinating
character who exists inside every shopping loving lady! She cannot help herself,
Becky is an impulsive character with an
extremely loyal and loving heart who you
just cannot help but both laugh and cry with!'Shopaholic and Baby' is the latest
in this humourously fantastic series. Becky Brandon, Nee Bloomwood, is married
to the man of her dreams Luke, and is expecting their first child! Of course this
is just another excuse for Becky to shop....! She can be extremely materialistic,
and when Becky finds out about a celebrity
doctor she just HAS to have her! We
watch as she convinces Luke to agree in the way only she can do, only to
discover the famous doctor is the highly glamourous ex-girlfriend of Luke's!
This starts Becky's characteristic paranoia while she fights an inner struggle
between her trust for Luke and the signs that something is amiss. We go
through all the pain and laughs as we read this book as Kinsella has created a
character so realistically naive we are captivated!I was hooked from 'The Secret
Dreamworld of a Shopahoilc' and always will be! Kinsella is a legend in the
making for women of every generation for every age can sympathise with
Becky's problems!
