The Book of the Friend and the Loved one

Book Review by: PabloSantos

Original Author: Pablo Silva Machado Bispo dos Santos
This abstract was translated from O Livro do Amigo e do Amado
The present workmanship if points out in the scope of the famous tradition of treated on the love, having however a distinction
in relation to some of these workmanships (as the Cânticos de Salomão), which is the fact from that, in this cao, all and any erótico component is moved away from this treating on the love, since the subject of the Book of the Friend and the Loved one is nothing more nothing less of what the love of the soul human being for God, its father, creator and object of the principle worship and respect according to existing rules since the Law of Moisés.Poucas people can doubt the allure exerted forthe subject of the love, being this object of poets, politicians and philosophers throughout the time. The form, however as Lull approaches such subject if it coats with a bonanza largeness, therefore it looks for to awake in the reader the maximum possible commotion, they tam as if the reader also was a fidiciary office to contemplate the wonders of God and he felt them in âmago of its being. Of poetical form Lull it constructs to dialogues between the friend (the man) and the loved one (God), in way that in such dialogues is transparent at alternated moments, the force of the love, to flow and to flow back of one to another one. Such vision of the love consists of a transcendência of the erótico love and the intellectual love, which is only possible at the moment of the experience of the místico ecstasy of the contemplation of the deity. More than what a workmanship on the love, the Book of the Friend and the Loved one, is a emotive day route to the experience of the beautiful feeling indefinível and of the condition human being, portraied in its purer and sublime version: the love of homema God and the love of God to the man.
