standing by Jumna River outside AAGra in India is reporded
as the fienest Example of Islamic architecture
standing on a rectangular platform 580 metres by 304 metres. The higly decorated onion shaped done of the octagonal tomb is white marble in flunked by four smaller domes at each corner a standy minar at and a pool lined with edifice. The
mausoleum was commissioned by the Moghul emperor shah Jahan in 1631 for his beloved wife who died in childbirth. The construction began the following year;took twenty two yeares to complete and employed twenty thousand workers. The inside of building is juste as ornate as exterior with semi precious jewels set into the marble. At the centre is an ornate canotesh and in a vault below this lie shah jahan and his wife.
