Queen of Pedants

Book Summary by: Robor

Original Author: John Mullan
This article features an interview with author Lynne Truss. Starting out as a literary editor, Lynne Truss, became well-known
for her book ‘Eats, Shoots, and Leaves.' In the book, she takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to bad punctuation in a rather militant fashion. A native to Brighton, England, she currently reviews books for The Sunday Times in London and can be heard on BBC Radio. She is the author of three novels and numerous radio dramas. Her humor and wit are evident in her literary works. Some of her other works include ‘The Lynne Truss Treasury,' ‘Talk to the Hand,' ‘With One Lousy Free Packet of Seeds,' ‘Going Loco,' and ‘Tennyson's Gift.' Her radio scripts include dramas, sitcoms, and talks. Lynne learned most of her lessons about punctuation usage when she was involved in journalism. Although in her book, ‘Eats, Shoots, and Leaves,' Lynne Truss focuses on British punctuation, she also notes the differences between British and American punctuation.
