A MILLION LITTLE PIECES

Book Review by: RINCANASI

Original Author: JAMES FREY
This book is a deep no-holds-barred look at drug addiction. The plot is about a spoilt rich kid James, who comes across
a a tough guy who has a severe crack/alcohol addiciction. His wealthy parents pay for his drying-out at the highly expensive Hazelden Clinic. Plot continues, he goes in a complete wiped-out, drug crazed hard kid and comes out semi-repaired and sober.
I must admit that the book is so intense it is very hard to put down. Not only did the author show the reader the depravity of drug and alcohol abuse, how it can ruin a family, he also brought his reader on a voyage of discovery and shows them what it would be like to go through a rehab programme. Another excellent attribute to Frey book is his unwillingness to assign blame to anyone other than himself for his addiction. APPLAUD...
This book is not for the faint of heart and is written in a very open and honest manner. Some of the descriptions will cause you to wince, feel disgust and complete sorrow for the pain that addiction causes. There are harrowing scenes such as James' visit to the dentist and there are scenes which leave you feeling hope and acceptance at the strength of the human will.
My final verdict on this book is that it is a very worthwhile read and it clearly shows you the strength and weakness and how much punishment the human body can endure. The author has a very unique and professional pen and his writing can reach his readers with great ease. If you don't read the book I'm sure that it will be made into a movie in the future. You can catch it then.

The writer of this piece has given me great insight into the content of the book. It is now a must have for my christmas list and i really look forward to reading it. I think that Rochelle Moore has great strength and her own professional penmanship or penwomanship is like a breath of fresh air.

    A MILLION LITTLE PIECES

This book is featured on Oprah's premier booklist and i find that the writer of this review has done an excellent and very great task in the summing up of this horrendous lifestyle A million little pieces is a very hard book to read if you are not familiar with the drug scene. The family are destroyed and the journey back to a normal life is a long a hard fight. This reviewer has written an excellent piece on James Frey's work
