Who told you?

Book Review by: Ely Pena

Original Author: Marian Keyes
This abstract was translated from ¿Quien te lo ha contado?
Three women with very different personalities are the protagonists of this book. Their destinies are intertwined for different
reasons. Any woman in any city will probably identify with one of them. Did your friend steal your boyfriend and you can't forgive her? Do you have problems with debt? Do you have a very creative partner who never quite has his feet on the ground? Have you, without knowing quite how it happened, ended up 'involved' with a work colleague? These women go through all this and much more, all narrated in a comic tone, but all is resolved logically, making the characters seem even closer. The world of the book is the background of this novel, an example of the new feminine literature; forming the basis of the book are the stories of these three lives, told in parallel. Marian Keyes is without doubt a queen of current feminine literature. This new style is written by women for women. It presents situations that we can live and feel in a similar way to the characters described. The male public should have a look through these pages from time to time to learn the answers to such questions as: does it really matter if he's married?, why does she still think there's something between us?, why doesn't she want to have sex today?,...
