The book underlines overview
of the tanning industry - its characteristics, processes, pollution impacts, various treatment methods and disposal
techniques which have been put into practice over the past decades. The book deals with economic assessment of the treatment techniques and recovery systems. It discusses about anaerobic fixed flim fixed bed reactor system for treatment of tannery waste, cleaner - technology and waste minimization. Finally, gives solution to reduce end-of-the-pipe treatment to be given to the combined tannery waste water with special techniques like photochemical oxidation and membrane systems.
